The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service requested comment on the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area draft Master Plan and the draft Management Plan by July 5 2022.

ABCD Inc. have lodged a submission identifying 3 issues of concern in the draft Master Plan:

• traffic management at the intersection of Chifley Rd and Old Bells Line of road will need to be upgraded to manage the large increase in traffic from visitors to the park and the Zig Zag Railway, as well as heavy vehicles from the sand quarry
• the need for a MTB trail connecting Bell Station to the extensive network of MTB trails to be established within the park, and
• the lack of a designated Neighbourhood Safer Place (NSP) near the Clarence exit from the park, as a last resort option for visitors and locals during a bushfire event.
