ABOUT ABCD Inc

We are a community-based association dedicated to promoting the well-being and resilience of our 350 residents of Bell, Clarence and Dargan, NSW. Our association was formed following the devastating Black Summer fires of December 2019

Our vision is of a strong, resilient and connected community that is able to protect and promote the natural, scenic, cultural, economic and social values of the localities of Bell, Clarence and Dargan for current and future generations.

Through community-led, collective action, we strengthen our resilience and capacity. Because together, we are stronger.

Objectives of ABCD Inc.

To provide an organisation by which landholders and residents of the localities of Bell, Clarence and Dargan can take collective action which they believe is in the best interests of protecting and promoting the natural, scenic, cultural, economic and social values of these communities for current and future generations.

ABCD Inc shall endeavour:
a) to operate in a manner that respects the rights of members, as well as other landholders and residents, to make informed decisions in their own best interests,
b) to support the community with communication networks that provide guidance and assistance during times of fires and other natural phenomena,

c) to advocate and promote community activity to support the natural, scenic, cultural, economic and social objectives of the localities of Bell, Clarence and Dargan,
d) to advocate for government and other services to our communities which promote the principle objective,
e) to work respectfully with the traditional owners and other Aboriginal people who have a connection to the localities of Bell, Clarence and Dargan,
f) to work constructively with Local, State and Federal Governments, including agencies such as the Rural Fire Service, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Forestry Corporation of NSW, Roads and Maritime Services, Transport for NSW and Local Land Services,
g) to act as a trustee of any charitable fund esta
blished to promote one or more elements of the Objectives.
